After spending a week in Guatemala with GOT Ministries, I’d like to tell you about my experience.

GOT Ministries’ influence in Santa Maria de Jesus and New Life School far exceeded my expectations!

Your dollars really are making a difference!

Because of your donations, these kids are receiving therapy services that can greatly improve the quality of their lives.
Seeing the therapy first hand as I watched Megan and Jessica work with these kids was fascinating, but there was something even better taking place. They were bringing love, support, encouragement and hope to families to who feel forgotten – to families who feel like they have nowhere to turn.
Does it get any better than that?!

My favorite story is that of Frank. Frank had only completed kindergarten before he had to leave school to work with his father in the fields. When Frank’s retinas detached at the age of 17 leaving him completely blind, he literally didn’t leave his house for two years. TWO YEARS! After working with Megan (and later GOT Ministries), Frank completed his education and is now a teacher at New Life School. He rides the bus alone to Guatemala City every Saturday to take English classes. We had the privilege of visiting Frank and his family at his home. In fact, Frank and I are even Facebook friends now!

I also had the opportunity to meet and pray for Junior and Jairon and their families. Both of these boys are 3-4 years old and diagnosed with cerebral palsy. They are less than half the size of typical children their age. They cannot walk or crawl. They cannot even sit or speak. So what can they do? They can remind me of the faithfulness of God. They can remind me that His ways are higher than my ways. They can give and they can receive the love of Christ in a powerful way! As I prepared to go to Guatemala, my prayer was that the love of Christ would flow through me. And it did! However, I never expected to be on the receiving end of that love too. But I was!

My heart is forever changed by the week I spent with the GOT Ministries team and the students, families and staff at New Life School.

Thank you for donating to this ministry. Thank you for bringing hope to those who don’t know where to turn. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ.
